The finals contest of Tsinghua’s Got Talent 2015 was successfully organized on the Zijing Field on 30th of May. 10 groups of local and international students showcased their talents in a dazzling display of music, dance and acrobatics. The dance crew Chicken and Beer eventually emerged first in the contest.
The finals contest saw an exciting lineup of contestant and guest performances, some of which included exotic talents such as the renowned Sichuan Opera. Familiar tunes were played throughout the night with the likes of “Girl on Fire”, “Poker Face”. The contest ended on a high note with Chicken and Beer’s cooperative item with the Korean band “Green Knights” performing “Black or White + Uptown Funk”.
A new segment of this year’s performance is the THU’s Got Creativity, where applicants are judged and ranked by the innovation and creativity of their submissions. This segment is in response to Prime Minister LI’s advocate for more creativity and entrepreneurship spirit in college students, especially Tsinghua University.
Since its inception THU’s Got Talent has aimed to provide a platform for members of the Tsinghua community to showcase their talent and passion, regardless of nationality and performance type. Currently in its 4th year, it has consistently attracted both international and local students to participate. The contest is hoped to promote cultural exchange and further interaction between local and international students.
The event is wholly organized by the Association of International Cultural Exchange (AICE), supported by the International Students Office.
