Currently, Tsinghua University offers four kinds of scholarship to the international students: Chinese Government Scholarship, Beijing Government Scholarship, Tsinghua University Scholarship, and Confucius Institute Scholarship.
The Chinese Government Scholarship is mostly full scholarship and open to both the degree program students (undergraduate and graduate) and the visiting/exchange students.
The Beijing Government Scholarship is tuition scholarship and, in Tsinghua University, open to the undergraduate students and Master’s students.
The Tsinghua University Scholarship is also tuition scholarship and open only to the doctoral students.
The Confucius Institute Scholarship is provided by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and, in Tsinghua University, open only to the students of Chinese language program.
In the fall semester of 2014, twenty-two percent (22%) of the international students of Tsinghua University have been awarded scholarships, and the proportions of the awarded new students are listed below.
