The Amgen Scholars Program, established by the Amgen Foundation, is a summer research training program for undergraduates. It aims to select outstanding undergraduates with a background in biomedicine and related fields or with a strong interest in life science and pharmaceutical exploration from around the world, and sponsor them to go to the world's top educational and research institutions for an 8-10 week research practice during the summer vacation, including the guidance of tutors, thoughts exchange and the attendance of intercontinental seminar.

For those excellent scholars who are selected to come to Tsinghua, the fee of roundtrip tickets to Beijing, part of meal allowance, student apartment or on-campus hotel are covered, and stipends will be offered. Each scholar will be assigned to a faculty member as his/her mentor during the research program. In addition, the scholar will have the opportunity to participate in lab and take part in a series of academic activities with postdocs, technicians or graduate students. Furthermore, other extra-curricular activities will be organized, such as networking events and culture exploration, to enable scholars to make acquaintance with new friends and learn more about Chinese culture. Tsinghua ASP turned out to be a meaningful and salutary one, as all scholars who participated in our program from 2019 to 2023 claimed that they benefited from it largely and created unforgettable memories together.
