WNU Short Course on “The World Nuclear Industry Today”

The short course on “the world nuclear industry today” is an activity co-hosted by the World Nuclear University (WNU) and the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology (INET) of Tsinghua University (THU).

 

The course is designed to enhance the knowledge of attendees about the status of nuclear energy and technology in the world today and its likely development. The curriculum typically covers energy demand and supply, nuclear related technologies, safety, nuclear project management and effective communication, job opportunities in the nuclear workforce, etc. Lecturers are leading experts from the World Nuclear Association, Tsinghua University, and the nuclear industry.

 

Target participants include university students from science and engineering departments as well as legal, social and economic fields concerned with nuclear, environmental, energy and communication matters.

 

WNU is a global network committed to enhancing international education and leadership in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and the applications of nuclear science and technology. The WNU founding supporters are the IAEA, OECD/NEA, WANO and World Nuclear Association.

 

INET is a top research institute featuring interdisciplinary and comprehensive high-tech in the field of nuclear and new energy in China. It offers a well-organized graduate education system with multi-disciplinary and multi-directional features, covering reactor operation, reactor physics, reactor structure design, reactor control, radiation safety and protection, nuclear fuel cycle, advanced nuclear fuels, nuclear technology application, nuclear waste treatment, new energy technology, energy management and environment evaluation. At present, INET can offer 6 doctoral degree programs and 9 master’s degree programs, and it has one mobile center for post-doctoral research.
