2025 IEDA Summer School

The Industrial Engineering and Data Analytics (IEDA) Summer School, sponsored by the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, is a 14-day program aimed at providing participants with a general introduction to Industrial Engineering and Data Analytics, as well as a basic understanding of the systematic operation mode of Chinese industries. The program consists of courses on Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, and Engineering Management, as well as practical sessions. It also includes visit significant historical sites and enterprises related to Chinese logistics and manufacturing in Beijing and other cities in China. This Summer School offers a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in academics, Chinese industry, culture and society through both classroom and travel experiences.

III. Qualification

An applicant should be a non-Chinese citizen and in their second- or third- year undergraduate studies, or about to enter their final year of study in engineering, data science, management or other related fields.


IV. Duration

July 5- July 18, 2025 (Beijing time)


V. Costs

1. USD 800 per student. The Summer School fee includes tuition, on-campus housing, and accident insurance (during the summer school). It does not cover personal expenses, such as international travel costs, passport and visa fees, and meals.

2. Scholarship opportunities are available based on the applicant's academic achievements, research interests, relevant experience, and performance during the Summer School.


VI. How to Apply

1. Applicants are required to submit:

a) A personal statement that includes a curriculum vitae, research interests, and relevant experience in the field.

b) An official enrollment certificate and academic transcript.

c) A copy of the personal passport information page.

d) For non-native English speakers or for those studying in non-English speaking countries, please provide results of an English Proficiency test (TOEFL ≥ 85 or IELTS ≥ 6.5), or provide proof of achieving at least an A grade in the First Certificate in English (FCE) from the Cambridge English Language Assessment.
