1. Applicants must meet the application eligibility requirements stipulated in the Admission to Graduate Programs of Tsinghua University 2027 (For International Students)

2. If the applicant falls into the following categories:

(1) An applicant who was originally a Chinese citizen but later obtained foreign nationality. The applicant must submit the following documents ① and ② before the deadline of the respective batch for each program:

① A valid foreign passport or official documentation proving foreign nationality.

Specific requirements: The period from when the applicant obtained foreign nationality or obtained a foreign passport until April 30 of the enrollment year has been at least 6 years (inclusive); if the passport was renewed during this 6-year period, all passports held during the period, or the corresponding supporting materials, must be submitted.

② Documents proving that the applicant no longer holds Chinese nationality.

The specific requirements are listed below according to the applicant's former household registration location in China:

Previously held household registration in the Chinese mainland: Submit relevant proof materials for renouncing Chinese nationality (e.g., if the renunciation application has been approved, submit a copy of the Certificate of Renunciation of Chinese Nationality), together with an electronic scan of the original certificate of household registration cancellation.

Never held household registration in the Chinese mainland: Submit relevant proof materials for renouncing Chinese nationality (e.g., if approved for renunciation, submit a copy of the Certificate of Renunciation of Chinese Nationality).

(2) Applicants whose parent or parents are Chinese citizens and have settled abroad, who were born abroad, acquired foreign nationality at birth, and have never held Chinese nationality must submit the following documents by the application deadline of the respective batch for each program:

① Documents proving that the applicant had foreign nationality at birth (such as certificate of nationality at birth, birth registration in the foreign country, etc.);

② Documents proving that the applicant’s Chinese-citizen parent or parents had obtained permanent residence in a foreign country by the time of the applicant’s birth;

③ Documents proving the applicant no longer holds Chinese nationality.

Note: Applicants under any of the following circumstances shall submit documentation in accordance with Category (1) above:

① One or both parents are Chinese citizens, and the applicant was born in China;

② One or both parents are Chinese citizens, and the applicant was born abroad but does not meet the conditions specified in Category (2);

③ The applicant previously held Chinese nationality but subsequently lost it.
